For many parents and guardians the secondary school they send their child or children too is one of the most important decisions they can make.
So strong is the desire for their children to go to the right school that some families will move home to ensure they are in the catchment area of the favoured school.
For many kids they just want to go to the same school as their friends, whereas parents and guardians often need to consider other factors such as exam results and location.

In London there are over 500 secondary schools but only a small number are deemed to be outstanding by the Office for Standards in Education, or as it is more commonly known Ofsted.
Currently, there are four possible ratings that a school can be given; outstanding, good, requires improvement or inadequate.

Which rating a school is given is based on an Ofsted inspection that normally lasts two days.
Inspectors will spend most of their time observing lessons and gathering evidence to inform their judgements.
Final conclusions will only be made when the inspectors have collected and considered all the evidence available to them.
A report will then be sent to the school and then published for the general public to read.
