Someone has died after reportedly being hit by a bus in Shoreditch.
The Metropolitan Police have closed a major road in both direction.
Great Eastern Street was reportedly shut off at around 9.15am on Friday (February 4).
Photos taken at the scene show a police cordon in place with fire engines and London Ambulance Service (LAS) vehicles in attendance.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a car, an incident response officer, a command support vehicle, and members of our hazardous area response team. We also dispatched a London’s Air Ambulance car.
“Sadly, a person died at the scene.”
It is understood that the street is closed from Curtain Road (The Old Blue Last pub) to A1202 Great Eastern Street.
On its website Transport for London wrote: “Traffic is slow moving on diversion with eastbound queues on Old Street and City Road, westbound traffic is slow moving from Hackney Road, Bethnal Green Road and Commercial Road. Expect delays”
