A 25-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in a “group attack” in Brixton today.
A cordon is currently in place outside Brixton Recreation Centre on Brixton Station Road this afternoon (Thursday, February 3).
A witness at the scene, who wishes to remain anonymous, described seeing a “scuffle” between a group of males before witnessing someone fall to the ground.
She said: “I was just going to Argos to pick up some stuff and I saw a group of guys scuffling. Then someone dropped to the floor.”
A photo shows an ambulance and a number of police officers at the scene, as well as a crowd of onlookers.
A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 4.43pm on Thursday, February 3, to reports of a man stabbed on Brixton Station Road, SW9.
“Officers attended and found a 25-year-old man with a stab injury. He was taken by the LAS to a south London hospital; his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
“There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
“Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference CAD 5164/03Feb.”
