Guinness has a renewed taste for British brewing | Business

Seventeen years after the Park Royal Brewery in north London stopped production of the Guinness, the Irish stout is to be brewed in Britain again. Diageo, which owns the brand, has announced plans to invest £73 million developing a new microbrewery and “culture hub” in Covent Garden that will create 150 jobs and a community space.

The group said that the investment in the 50,000 sq ft venue was designed to build on the success of the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin and the opening of Johnnie Walker Princes Street in Edinburgh last year. Both have become top tourist destinations.
