Acton Town: Huge blaze spotted near train station
A blaze has erupted by a London train station this evening, dramatic video shows.
Shocking footage shared on Twitter shows the flames billowing and crackling on a roof by Acton Town station in West London.
One witness described the scene as “apocalyptic” as the station is surrounded by emergency services, MyLondon reports.
Passengers were safely evacuated from the station this evening as the cause of the fire is not yet clear.
The London Fire Brigade say they have deployed 10 fire engines and 70 firefighters to the scene of the fire at a car garage.
In a tweet, they wrote: “Ten fire engines and 70 firefighters are at the scene of a fire at a car garage on Bollo Lane in #Acton. More information to follow.”

The London Underground station has since been closed due to an Emergency Services incident. There are also part closures on the Piccadilly Lone and DIstrict Line as a result of the fire.
Photos shared on social media show the inferno on the roof of what appears to be the Auto Car Centre on Bollo Lane next to the station.

The junction outside the station has been closed as drivers are being told to find other routes.
One person wrote on Twitter: “I literally just went through this station 10 minutes ago and didn’t see anything, hope everyone is safe.”
Another on social media said the fire “seemed to pick up pretty quickly”.
