‘Do not approach’ man who escaped escort while on leave from secure medical facility

Police are on the hunt for an East London man who escaped from his escort while he was on release from a secure medical facility.

Shaun Deeley should not be approached by members of the public, officers warn, and anyone who sees him should call 999 immediately.

The 41-year-old went missing in Clapton, East London – and he also has links to other parts of the city including Hackney, Holloway and Finsbury Park.

A Hackney Police spokesperson said: “Can you help locate Shaun Deeley, 41, who absconded during escorted leave from a secure medical facility?

“Deeley was last seen at 3:30pm on January 29 in Clapton. He has links to Hackney, Holloway and Finsbury Park.

“If you see Deeley do not approach but call 999, quoting reference CAD4790/29Jan.”

Deeley has now been missing for more than 24 hours.

CCTV footage shows he was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, white trainers, a blue T-shirt, a dark jacket and a grey thermal hat.

The Metropolitan Police has been contacted for more information surrounding his disappearance.
