Rainham fire: 60 firefighters battling blaze in row of houses at Bulmer Walk – latest updates

More than 60 firefighters have been deployed to tackle a house blaze on Bulmer Walk, Rainham this morning.

Eight crews from stations around London have responded to this ongoing incident in which the entire roof of the property is well alight. The roof of the neighbouring terraced property has also caught fire.

There is a large emergency services presence at the site of the incident which has been sealed off and residents should close their windows to avoid smoke inhalation and avoid the area if possible.

The fire was first reported at 1.49am Sunday January 30.

A spokesman for London Fire Brigade said: “Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters have been called to a house fire on Bulmer Walk in Rainham.

“The entire roof of a terraced house is alight and part of the roof of a neighbouring property is also alight.”

“Fire crews from Wennington, Hornchurch, Barking, Dagenham and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.

“The cause of the fire is not known at this time. More information to follow.”
