Man, 19, dies in motorcycle crash on A13 after being rushed to hospital

A teenager who was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash has died in hospital, it has been confirmed.

The victim, a 19-year-old man, collided with the central reservation on the westbound A13, near the Beckton Flyover in East London on January 15.

He was then taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he later died, a Met spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday (January 26).

Officers from the Met and London Ambulance Service crews were called to the A13 at around 7am on January 15, where they found the victim fighting for his life.

The boy’s family are being supported by specially trained officers.

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit have launched an investigation and have renewed appeals for anyone with dashcam footage or information about the crash.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call the witness appeal line on 0208 597 4847. Alternatively, call 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 1556/15Jan,” a spokesperson said.
