Charlton Athletic intent on permanent deal for Middlesbrough’s Marcus Browne – South London News

Charlton Athletic are working on a permanent deal for Middlesbrough attacker Marcus Browne.

A report today had claimed that the 24-year-old was due to undergo a medical today ahead of a loan switch to SE7.

But the South London Press understands that the Addicks want to take Browne on a full-time basis.

Charlton manager Johnnie Jackson was asked at the weekend about a move for the former West Ham United youngster.

“I know about Marcus Browne, he is a very good player,” he said. “He’s someone I know very well and has been involved at this level for a good number of years.

“I’m not going to comment on individual players and targets. We’ve got our business that we’re trying to conduct and go about it in a professional way. We’ll see what happens in the next 10 days.”

Browne has scored 10 goals in 45 League One appearances. He has twice spent time on loan at Oxford United, claiming nine assists and 14 goals in 60 matches for them.
