A police officer has been airlifted to hospital following a crash involving a motorbike going the wrong way down the M25.
Patrols were responding to reports of a stolen motorcycle when the collision happened near Junction 3 at about 4pm today, Kent Police said.
The bike, which was being driven the wrong way along the clockwise carriageway, collided with a male officer.
He was seriously injured in the incident and has been taken to a London hospital for treatment.
A man, 26, has been arrested on suspicion of offences including dangerous driving.
The M25 was closed in both directions near Junction 3 for Swanley following the crash.
Both carriageways have since reopened but traffic remained heavily congested as of 6pm.
