A male has been arrested for suspected possession with intent to supply drugs (PWITS) following a foot chase in the SE28 area.
Violence Suppression Unit (VSU) officers at Greenwich arrested the man on Friday.
A search of his home address followed, with police locating a large amount of cocaine, cannabis and cash, the total value of which amounted to more than £10,000.
Also on Friday, in a separate incident, the VSU unit arrested another male for PWITS in SE18.
Officers had stopped a vehicle and on searching it, cannabis and cocaine were found hidden behind the steering wheel column.
Possession with intent to supply is a criminal offence under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. As the name suggests, it is a crime to possess a controlled drug with the intention to supply it to someone else. There is no need for the actual supply to take place to prosecute someone for the offence.
If the case is being heard in the Crown Court, and the offender has been found guilty of possession of intent to supply a Class A drug, they could be sentenced to life imprisonment and given an unlimited fine to pay.
