Smoking is a landlord’s worst nightmare, as to them, it’s a one-way ticket to their sources of income burning down.
So whenever, and wherever possible, landlords will put up no-smoking signs, just to let tenants know the gross habit causes problems.
So kudos to the landlord from Newham, who chose to snazz up his anti-smoking campaign with a jazzy letter professing his love for the poor squirrels.

It read: “To all residents.
“Smoking will not be tolerated in the building.
“Smoking is a disgusting habit that kills people and babies and squirrels.
“Anyone found to be smoking inside the building should be ashamed of themselves.
“The rest of the residents will look on you with shame.”

“SHAME.”
Suffice it to say, other Reddit users were keen to share their thoughts on the message.
The sign was left for everyone to see
One had a winge that squirrels don’t actually pay their fair share.
“As a Newham resident, we do live with squirrels. C**ts don’t even pay council tax,” they wrote.
Another saw the funny side of this old-fashioned message.
They said: “It’s the archaic delivery which is completely ridiculous which makes it funny. You could imagine a crack of thunder inhabiting the pause.
“Then there’s taking a step back and wondering what kind of human would think the notice and it’s contents are a good idea.
“I’d put out a cigarette on the notice.”
A third mourned the loss of some furry friends.
“Don’t. I’ve lost two very important squirrels to the habit. Heartbreaking.” they wrote.
But this wasn’t to be outdone by a fourth who claims he can’t pop out to smoke without booting a squirrel out the ball park.
They said: “It’s true, every time I go out for a fag I also stomp on a squirrel. Nicotine just doesn’t feel right without it, you know?”
