Cyclist suffers life-changing injuries after being struck by a lorry in South West London

A woman in her 30s has suffered life-changing injuries after she was hit by a lorry while cycling in South West London.

Police were called at 8.14am today (January 13) to reports of a collision involving a lorry and a cyclist at the junctions of Battersea Bridge Road and Cheyne Walk.

Officers attended and paramedics rushed to the scene alongside an air ambulance, while the driver of the lorry stopped at the scene.

The cyclist, a woman aged in her 30s, was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries. Her next of kin have been told, according to police.

Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing and detectives from the Met’s serious collision investigation Unit would like to hear from any witnesses or drivers who were in the area at the time.
