“Decompress and detach” – Connells-owned agency backs…

The Connells-owned high end agency Hamptons is to sponsor what it calls a “garden sanctuary” at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London in May.

The sponsorship involves partnering with design firm Garden Club London and architectural studio Koto – and the end product will be, in the words of the Hamptons press release, “a tranquil and sensory indoor and outdoor space to relax and unwind.”

The agency says that with the rise in flexible working and working from home comes an increased desire for space, especially outdoor and garden space, finding a place to “decompress and detach”.

It says the design will create a place “where one can escape and be distracted by the sights, scent and sounds of nature nurturing creativity, positivity and calm.”

Hamptons managing director Lesley Cairns says: “We have seen from our research the surge of interest in gardens and outdoor spaces in general. Many more people are spending more time at home in general and working from home is becoming the norm.

“The garden has become so much more of a focus as a place of escapism, a space where one can be distracted by nature; a place to be calm, to unwind, and encourage an aura of mindfulness and wellbeing and the attraction of a home cabin where one can sit quietly and read or listen to music, use as a home office, yoga studio or creative art space – what more could one want.”
