London crime: One dead and seven injured after horrific weekend of violence in capital

Seven people were injured in stabbing attacks across London over the weekend, and another was killed in a road collision.

The victim of the crash, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, while three others were rushed to hospital.

A total of seven victims of knife attacks were taken to hospitals over the weekend, including one who was left in critical condition.

These are all the violent incidents that took place in London over the weekend.

Haydon Road, Dagenham, where the man was stabbed

Man stabbed in East London

A man was left fighting for his life after being stabbed at a property in East London.

Police rushed to an address on Haydon Road, Dagenham, after the incident at around 8.20am on January 9.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as life-threatening.

As he fought for his life, police arrested a 32-year-old in connection with the incident.

According to the police the two men are thought to have known each other.

Horror collision on M11

Following the crash, a diversion was in place along the road all night and throughout the morning

A man was charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a fatal collision between two cars on the M11.

Police were called to Redbridge on Saturday, January 8 at 00.50am.

The collision involved a silver Vauxhall Vectra and grey BMW 1 series after the Vectra collided with motorway barriers near Junction 4.

A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene and three other men were rushed to hospital.

Hugues Mike, 24, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and he will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 10.

The 22-year-old woman driving the BMW was also arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but was later released under investigation.

Three men stabbed in Kensington street fight

Three men were rushed to hospital with stab injuries following a fight that broke out in the Kensington High Street area on Saturday (January 9).

At 4.45am, police received reports of the incident, itself believed to have taken place at around 4am, while London Ambulance Service also attended the West London scene.

None of the three men were reported to be in a life-threatening condition.

Man ‘stabbed inside shop’ after Croydon attack

A man was left in a critical condition after being rushed to hospital following a stabbing in Thornton Heath on Saturday (January 8).

The man, believed to be aged in his 20s, was found suffering stab injuries by police at roughly 3.35pm, after officers were called to reports of a stabbing on Beulah Road.

The man was allegedly stabbed a ‘number of times’ inside a Croydon shop.

London Ambulance Service also attended the scene, reportedly landing its Air Ambulance in Beulah Road Infant School. The man was rushed to a south London hospital for treatment, where he remains in a critical condition.

A man was arrested near to the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

Two men injured in six-person fight

High Road Tottenham

Two men were rushed to hospital after a fight broke out on Tottenham High Road in the early hours of January 9.

Police were called to reports of the fight at 4.49am alongside London Ambulance Service.

A man, aged in his 20s, was found suffering cuts to his neck and arms, while another man was discovered nearby also suffering cuts to his arms.

Investigations into how the pair sustained their injuries are ongoing.

Six men, including the two taken to hospital, were arrested in connection with the incident, while the Met’s enquiries continue.
