Liverpool reach agreement for £75m star
Liverpool are ready to meet Sevilla’s £75m release clause for French international Jules Kounde, reports say.
According to El Nacional, the 23-year-old has already accepted the offer presented to him to take him to Anfield, despite interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea.
The former Bordeaux defender was a key member of the squad that won the Europa League in 2020, and has been in good form once again this season, helping his side to nine clean sheets in 17 games in La Liga.
Spurs enter race for Lingard
Tottenham have made contact with Manchester United star Jesse Lingard’s camp over a potential move to north London.
The 29-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has struggled for regular football at Old Trafford after returning from a successful loan spell at West Ham last season
The Hammers are still seemingly keen, and have been linked with trying to bring the England international back to the London Stadium.
However, according to football.london, Spurs have also sounded out a possible move, either in the summer or in the January window.
Ramsey tests positive for Covid as speculation rumbles on
Aaron Ramsey’s path out of Juventus may be complicated by a recent positive test for Covid.
The Wales star, 31, is set to leave the Serie A giants this month with several Premier League clubs keen to snap up his services.
Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle, Burnley and Crystal Palace have all been suggested as potential destinations, but any move could now be made more complex given that Ramsey is now in isolation.
A statement from Juventus read: “Juventus Football Club announces that Aaron Ramsey has tested positive for Covid-19.
“The player has already been placed in isolation.”
Newcastle in talks for £20m striker
Newcastle United have reportedly opened talks with French side Reims in a bid to sign young striker Hugo Ekitike.
According to Sky Sports, the Magpies are eager to get the 19-year-ol on board before their upcoming Premier League clash with Watford on Saturday.
The same report claims the Premier League strugglers have already fallen short of the French side’s £20m asking price with an informal offfer, but talks are believed to be continuing between the two clubs.
Ekitike, who made his debut for Reims in August, has scored eight goals in 17 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
