Ilford crash: Man rushed to hospital after being hit by bus in East London

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was hit by a bus in East London this evening (January 9).

He was hit at around 7.18pm in Cecil Road, at the junction with Ilford Lane, in Ilford, and his condition is currently unknown.

Police and the London Ambulance service were called to the scene after it was reported that a man had been involved in a collision with a bus.

The road remains closed and those travelling in the area are being advised to find alternate routes.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police, said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 7.18pm on Sunday, January 9 to reports of a bus in collision with a pedestrian on Cecil Road at the junction with Ilford Lane.

“Officers attended. The male pedestrian was taken to hospital; we await an update on his condition. Road closures are in place.”
