Man attacked 2 people on London train shouting ‘tirade of homophobic abuse’ and leaving 1 needing hospital

Two passengers on a South London train service were hit with a ‘tirade of homophobic abuse’ by a man who then attacked them both.

The attack, which took place on December 27, left one of the victims in hospital with a broken toe.

It happened just before 7:30pm on a service travelling between London Bridge and East Crodyon.

Police are today (January 10) releasing CCTV images of a man who may have information which can help their investigation.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to get in contact with the British Transport Police (BTP).

A spokesperson said: “If you recognise him, or have any information, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 374 of 27/12/21.

“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 11.”
