An amateur photographer has wowed Londoners with an incredible aerial image of the city at night.
Lewis Wright’s photograph, taken above West London looking out towards the East, shows the city lit up in brilliant shades of white.
The photographer snapped the incredible view on January 3, while catching a northbound flight from Gatwick Airport.

The black River Thames can be seen snaking through an illuminated London in the photograph, dividing north and south.
London’s biggest parks can also be spotted in stark contrast to their lit-up surroundings in the map-like image, with Hyde Park and Victoria Park particularly prominent.

Tower Bridge forms a focal point, illuminated in a dazzling bright white, setting it apart from the other bridges over the Thames.
Other eye-catching landmarks include the yellow-and-white lights of the London Olympic Stadium just beyond the darkness of Victoria Park, the bright white dome of the 02 Arena in Greenwich, and the prominent purple ring of the London Eye in the foreground.
The photographer told MyLondon: “I love taking photographs of landscapes and different things and there’s a part of me that would like to do it professionally!”

Other Londoners were in awe of the photograph, which Mr Wright posted on Facebook after his flight.
“What a wonderful, beautiful photo! A clear night over London,” wrote one entranced viewer.
“Wow so beautiful,” agreed someone else.
“Oh my goodness,” exclaimed another awestruck Facebook-user when they saw the snap, which had Londoners comparing the night-time view of their city from above to a glittering ‘jewellery box’.
