London news: Urgent police hunt as woman tries to lure eight-year-old away from family | UK | News

It has been reported the suspect tried to get the young child to engage in sexual activity after taking him away from his family in Waterloo Station where he had been sitting. The mother of the young buy heard a sexually explicit comment that the suspect said to the child. The schoolboy’s mother then confronted the suspect causing her to walk away.

Police have reported the woman approached the young boy as he sat on a bench with his family.

She then tried to coax him away, before making the sexual comment to him.

The incident happened just before 8pm on December 22.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police (BTP) said: “Officers investigating an incident during which a woman made a sexually explicit comment to a child are releasing CCTV images in connection.

“At just before 8pm on Wednesday December 22,2021, a woman approached an 8-year-old child who was sat on a bench at Waterloo station with his family.

“The woman then made an effort to lure the child away from his family before making a sexually explicit comment to him.

“The child’s mother heard the comment and confronted the woman who then walked away from the victim and his family.

“Officers believe the woman in the CCTV images may have information which could help their investigation.”

Now detectives have released CCTV footage of a woman walking in the station wearing a face mask.

Police are now hunting for the woman seen in the CCTV footage as they believe she might have information about the incident.

Police have asked anyone who recognises the woman, or has any information about the incident, to contact BTP by texting 61016.
