Croydon: Man taken to a south London hospital following stabbing

A man remains in a “critical condition” after being stabbed in Thornton Heath, Croydon.

Police were called at 3.35pm yesterday (January 8) to reports of a stabbing in Beulah Road.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene and found the man who is believed to be aged in his 20s, suffering from stab injuries.

He was taken to a south London hospital for treatment.

Another man was arrested near the scene on suspicion of GBH with intent.

Enquiries into the circumstances continue.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at approximately 15:35hrs on Saturday, 8 January to reports of a stabbing in Beulah Road, Thornton Heath.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, believed aged in his 20s, suffering stab injuries.

“He has been taken to a south London hospital for treatment; he remains there in a critical condition.

“A man – no further details – was arrested near to the scene on suspicion of GBH with intent; enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing.”
