West Ham are understood to have shown an interest in Brazilian international Gabriel Barbosa but a deal for the striker is not imminent.
The Hammers need for attacking reinforcements has been clear for some time with Michail Antonio the only recognised senior striker in the squad.
Despite the Jamaican’s return to form with two goals and an assist in his last three matches a run of eight Premier League games without a goal from October 31 to Boxing Day emphasised the need for backup at the business end of the pitch.
According to Sky Sports, Barbosa is a forward West Ham are considering and the Brazilian is keen on a move to the Premier League.
However, football.london understands that a move for Barbosa is unlikely with West Ham currently only interested in a loan, a deal that is not satisfactory for Flamengo. The Hammers are not minded to return to the Brazilian outfit a further offer so it appears as if a deal for the former Inter Milan player is at a standstill.
Moyes is keen to strengthen this transfer window with the Hammers looking to maintain their push for Champions League football via a top-four finish or a Europa League triumph.

With Kurt Zouma, Aaron Cresswell and Angelo Ogbonna out injured defensive reinforcements, as well as options in attack, are being considered as Moyes bids to go one better than last season’s Europa League qualification.
Ogbonna has been ruled out for the season after ACL surgery, Cresswell’s comeback was thought to be close only for the left-back to continue to have pain caused by a chipped bone in his back. There has been some good news recently regarding Zouma with the defender known to be back in the gym and ahead of schedule for a return to first team action.
