Over 80 neighbourhoods across Hertfordshire are considered Covid blackspots, new figures show.
The latest Government data shows that 82 areas in the county recorded infection rates over 1,600 in the week up to December 27.
At the end of last year, the government introduced the new blackspot category amid soaring rates of the Omicron variant.

The new figures help illustrate what the picture was like across the country over the Christmas period, with Boris Johnson allowing families to mix over the holidays.
The Government’s interactive map shows the seven-day case rate per 100,000 people in the week up to December 27, with the latest dates omitted due to incomplete figures.
A number of Herts neighbourhoods have infection rates over 2,000 as the Prime Minister continues to urge Brits to get their booster and protect themselves.
