ITV Anne: Maxine Peake on her ‘soulmate’ partner and the one thing they never argue about

Multi award-winning British actress Maxine Peake has enjoyed a successful acting career spanning back to 1998.

Now 47, she is set to play a heartbroken mum in a factual drama which revolves around the life and loss of Anne Williams, whose 15-year-old son Kevin attended the April 15, 1989 Liverpool v Nottingham FA Cup final and never returned home.

Peake – who is best known for her roles as Twinkle in the legendary sitcom Dinnerladies as well as Veronica Ball in Shameless, will star alongside Stephen Walters in the four-part ITV drama which airs tonight (January 2).

Kevin, along with 95 other football fans, died in the fatal Hillsborough disaster which was first branded “accidental”, leaving behind a grieving family who was forced to uncover the truth themselves.

When it comes to her job, Peake doesn’t shy away from taking on difficult roles, having portrayed Myra Hindley in the 2006 drama See No Evil: The Moors Murders, Bustle reports.

But when it comes to her love life, luckily it seems as if things are pretty smooth sailing.

Although not married, Peake is in a long-term relationship with her partner Pawlo Wintoniuk- a successful Ukrainian art director.

In an interview with The Guardian, Peake referred to him as her “soulmate”, adding: “He’s better informed than I am, and he thinks I’m a lot better informed than I am. Which makes me laugh.”

Although Peake is well-known for her strong political beliefs, being an avid supporter of Jeremy Corbyn, she never lets political issues turn into arguments with her other half.

She said: “We never row about politics.”
