Heathrow Airport Live: Updates as ‘birdstrike’ shuts one runway with planes queuing up to land

Heathrow Airport has reportedly been plunged into chaos this afternoon (Sunday, January 2) after a ‘birdstrike’ caused a plane to be escorted by fire engines after landing.

It’s thought that the plane is a British Airways flight from Dubai although little is currently known about the incident.

It has been reported that several fire teams are conducting a runway check on the Southern runway.

As a result, all incoming and outgoing traffic is being forced to queue for the Northern runway.
