London crime: Police called to first stabbing of year in Camden leaving two men injured

Police were called to Camden High Street in the early hours of the morning, after two men were injured, one with a knife.

Met Police officers arrived shortly before 6am on New Year’s Day where the two men were found, one with a laceration injury to his chest and another with an injury to his head.

Both men were taken to a West London hospital.

It is not thought their conditions are life-threatening.

Meanwhile, two men have been arrested on suspicion of GBH and taken into custody with a crime scene remaining in place in the area.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 5.48am on Saturday, January 1 to Camden High Street.

“Officers attended and found a man with a laceration injury to his chest and another man with an injury to his head.

“They were taken to a West London hospital; their conditions are not life-threatening.

“Two men have been arrested on suspicion of GBH and taken into custody.

“A crime scene remains in place.”
