Salt Bae baffles fans after feeding famous footballer £700 gold-plated steak with a knife

Salt Bae has apparently switched out the cold streets of London for the sky-high temperatures of Dubai for the festive season.

The famous steak house owner, who owns the Nusr-Et restaurant in Knightsbridge, was visited by a famous pro footballer at his Dubai diner earlier this week.

Real Madrid centre-forward Thibaut Courtois is the latest celebrity to visit one of Salt Bae’s eateries, following in the footsteps of the likes of TV personality Gemma Collins, Hollywood star Jason Statham and Loose Women panellist Coleen Rooney.

Posting to his 41 million Instagram followers, Salt Bae showed off his unique steak-cutting skills before feeding the pro footballer with a knife in a bizarre fashion.

In the video, Salt Bae shows off the gold plated steak, which costs £700 in his Knightsbridge restaurant, before cutting it up for the Belgian footballer to eat.

He then lets him sprinkle the salt over it in his trademark fashion, before feeding him with a bit of steak pierced on the end of a sharp kitchen knife.

The video has since racked up more than one million likes, and nearly 5,000 comments – and some fans are baffled by the video.

One concerned fan wrote: “Is that not a bit dangerous?”

A second added: “Strange…”

A third chimed in: “Who does that?”

However, loyal fans of the chef and restaurateur jumped to his defence, with many describing his style as “amazing”, and showed their appreciation for the video by leaving messages of support.

One wrote: “Look at that golden steak! Amazing.”

A second simply said: “King.”
