Twenty years on from when the first Harry Potter film hit cinema screens across Britain, it’s incredible to look at how the franchise turned child actors into Hollywood stars.
And it wasn’t just main stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint who forged out successful careers from their roles in the films.
One star whose name you might not immediately recognise is Jessie Cave, who played Lavender Brown – the Gryffindor who shared a dormitory with Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) and feel in love with Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Her character made it to the final film of the franchise, where she was savaged to death by werewolf Fenrir Greyback in the Battle of Hogwarts.
Although not a household name, Cave has enjoyed success of her own since starring in the Harry Potter films.
Gaining 210,000 Instagram followers along the way, she has played parts in Call the Midwife and Black Mirror.
Earlier this year, she also participated in popular BBC quiz show Richard Osman’s House of Games.
Cave married another familiar face, famous comedian Alfie Brown – who is best known for performing stand-up comedy and for his show ‘Sensitive Man’.
He is the son of composer Steve Brown and impressionist Jan Ravens – who previously took part in Strictly Come Dancing with pro partner Anton Du Beke.
The actress told The Times how they met at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, saying: “We were both on the same bill for a comedy night. I was onstage doing some questionable material (which luckily my memory has deleted), and I heard his laugh. I went red.”
The pair now have three children together – Donnie, six, Margot, four, and two-year-old Tenn, with Cave announcing earlier this month that a fourth baby is on the way.
Revealing the news on Instagram with a bathroom mirror selfie while holding her baby bump, she penned: “Can’t hide this new baby anymore.”
