Viewers of ITV’s Spitting Image have been blasting the show, saying it’s “utter, utter rubbish”.
The satirical sketch show, which features puppets made in the likeness of famous figures and politicians, proved to be a misfire with TV fans, despite already birthing a West End stage show in London.
On Twitter, one fan even joked that producers had blown the budget on puppets and forgotten to hire comedy writers.

One user who hadn’t even seen the show said: “Really wish I hadn’t watched that Spitting Image clip. Even 30 seconds of it was too much.”
Another reckoned it had “nothing on the original.”
Meanwhile a third branded it “dreadful, unfunny tosh.”
