Best known as Sean on Coronation Street, Antony Cotton has been a well-known face on our TV screens since the late 1990s.
The actor will take part on the celebrity version of the Great British Sewing Bee in a festive special tonight (December 22) against Rev Kate Bottley, Anneka Rice and Kiell Smith-Bynoe.
New host Sara Pascoe will oversee them as they must follow a pattern for a Christmas jumper, transform a charity shop bundle into a fancy dress outfit and create a dress from Christmas past – with judges Esme Young and Patrick Grant keeping a close eye on their technique.

But what about the star’s love life, and what other shows might you recognise him from?
Antony is not married but he exchanged rings with long-term partner Peter Eccleston in 2010.
At the time a source told the Mirror: “He and Peter are so much in love. “They have exchanged rings to show they are as good as a married couple, although they haven’t had a civil ceremony.”
When he isn’t working on the cobbles, he lives a happy life with Peter – who he met on the set of the soap opera when Peter worked as an assistant props buyer for the show.
A source told The Mirror: “Antony and Peter are so much in love.
“They have exchanged rings to show they are as good as a married couple, although they haven’t had a civil ceremony.”
Antony says that Peter brings out his “best side, adding: “We are an incredible team and he is always looking out for me and protecting me when we’re out, while I look after him at home.”

Opening up on their lives together, Antony added: “I hang up pictures, make pickled beetroot and buy plants. I bet people never thought I’d be practical.
“Peter came home the other day and I was in my underwear and a pair of Ugg boots covered in soil and potting hydrangeas.
“I went to the supermarket to buy tea and came home with a car full of flowers. I spent 18 months turning a yard and stables and farm into an open-plan house.
“Well, actually, Peter’s dad did – but I visited twice a day. Our house is our biggest extravagance in life.”
Although best known for his Coronation Street role, you may also recognise him from two episodes of Absolutely Fabulous, where he played Damon in 2001. He also starred in two episodes of The Bill in the year 2000.
The Great British Sewing Bee: Celebrity Christmas Special hosted by Sara Pascoe is on BBC One tonight (Wednesday, December 22) at 8pm.
