Man found dead on railway tracks in Cardiff

The British Transport Police detectives are appealing for information after a man was found dead on railway tracks in Cardiff.

Officers say they were called to an area of the railway near Parkfield Place, Mynachdy just after 4pm on Sunday December 19 to reports of a casualty on the tracks.

The ambulance service and the fire service also attended but the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is currently being treated as unexplained.

Police say enquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of the man and the circumstances leading up to his death.

Officers are appealing for any information which may help their investigation.
