PJ Awards 2022 to run in tandem with new partner the Jewellery Show

PJ editor Sam Lewis welcomes the Jewellery Show event director Lennox Addo to the stage at the 2021 PJ Awards

Professional Jeweller is pleased to announce that its next annual awards ceremony will take place on the first evening of next year’s inaugural Jewellery Show.

The Jewellery Show, new partner of the PJ Awards 2022, will see its debut event run Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 September 2022 at London’s ExCeL Centre in Canary Wharf.

After the Jewellery Show closes up shop on its first day (Monday 5 September), the Professional Jeweller Awards 2022 will be gearing up for another black-tie event to kick off in a nearby venue.

The Jewellery Show will be the only UK trade show for the jewellery sector, organised by event veteran CloserStill Media. It is aiming to secure around 300 exhibitors and hopes to have 6,000 attendees.

Lennox Addo, event director for the Jewellery Show and who presented an award at this week’s PJ Awards 2021, commented: “The Jewellery Show’s decision to partner with PJ allows us to be on the pulse of everything jewellery trade-related.

“It’s challenging enough being across all internal sectors, but PJ has the broadest overview and yet primary focused perspectives of the industry – it is unmatched anywhere else.”

Cathie Osborne, who this week joined the Jewellery Show as committee member, added: “Combining the Professional Jeweller Awards with the Jewellery Show cements the global positioning of the event.

“Many global shows, like JCK and Inhorgenta, combine their exhibition with an awards ceremony to create an experience driven opportunity for both suppliers and retailers.

“It will be an incredible celebration of the British jewellery and watch industry.”

Meanwhile, the PJ Awards earlier this week saw another successful event at the historic De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden, where the Jewellery Show was a category sponsor.

The move from a December ceremony back to its usual September slot means attendees will only have to wait nine months before sitting down for another glamorous three-course meal with industry colleagues and friends.
