Marsh has appointed Catherine Read (pictured above) as chief operating officer for the UK and Ireland, effective Jan. 4.
Read will join the UK and Ireland executive committee and the board of Marsh Ltd, subject to regulatory approval. She will be based in London and report to Chris Lay, CEO of UK and Ireland, and Puneet Satyawadi, COO for international.
As COO, Read will lead the development of Marsh’s operational and technological capabilities in the region, as well as improvement of the employee and client experience. She has close to 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. She is currently executive director and COO of Royal London Asset Management. Prior to that, she held senior positions at Royal London Group and PwC. Earlier in her career, she was at Barclays Capital and an accountant at PwC.
