Leeds United goalkeepers included in highest valued Under 23s
Leeds are almost unique in the top tiers of European football, in that both their number one and number two goalkeepers are Under 23. This is risky, as many prefer to have an experienced goalkeeper in their ranks. However, the Whites have two highly-rated young stars and this is reflected in their values according to CIES Football Observatory.
According to the site, Meslier is the second most valuable goalkeeper in the world under the age of 23. Only Euro 2020 winner Gianluigia Donnarumma is valued higher than the Frenchman’s €40m.
Meanwhile, Kristoffer Klaesson may be taking some time to adapt to his surroundings in the Under 23s but he is also in the top ten most valuable young goalkeepers at €8m.
