Attila Szalai to Chelsea a ‘done deal’ as Eden Hazard transfer decision encouraged

Here are your football.london Chelsea morning headlines on Tuesday, December 7.

Attila Szalai to Chelsea is a ‘done deal’

Hungary boss Marco Rossi has made a big claim regarding his central defender’s move to west London in the upcoming January transfer window.

There have been reports of Chelsea looking to conclude a deal fairly soon for the tall Hungarian defender but nothing had been confirmed up till this point.

But Rossi’s fresh take on the situation may suggest that something more.

He said, as per Football Italia: “It’s hard to name just one player, but right now I see very well Attila Szalai, who plays for Fenerbache, but I think he is joining Chelsea.

“Clearly, he has been followed by important clubs in Spain, but apparently his move to Chelsea is a done deal. It would be a great player also for Italian football.”

Eden Hazard linked again

Chelsea continue to be linked with a return swoop for Eden Hazard as the Belgian’s Real Madrid struggles go on.

Hazard, 30, has had a torrid time in the Spanish capital since sealing his ‘dream’ £100million move to Los Blancos from Chelsea, but a mixture of different injuries, coupled with struggling to adapt to the style of football, has led to claims he could look to leave.

Despite reportedly strong competition from Everton, Newcastle and West Ham, recent comments from Frank Lampard on Hazard could play a role in the thinking of those at Chelsea and what he can offer.

He admitted on the Overlap show with Gary Neville: “Eden was the best player in the Premier League. You could really feel the reliance had been on him.

“Gets us out of trouble on a bad day and he did it time and time again.”

The ability to get a team out of ‘trouble’ could have been very handy at the weekend when the Blues went behind late on against the east Londoners.

Ousmane Dembele has already issued his verdict on Thomas Tuchel amid Chelsea transfer talk

Barcelona winger and reported Chelsea transfer target Ousmane Dembele has already admitted his admiration for Blues manager Thomas Tuchel, amid fresh transfer links.

According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona have now given Dembele a deadline of December 31 to sort out his future.

However, the report adds that Dembele’s agent has already held talks with the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea over a potential transfer deal for the 24-year-old.

The Blues could benefit from having an extra option in attack, with players like Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic struggling with consistency.

But is his injury record a worry for a side that are currently having issues with their own injury problems closer to home?

This factor alone may not deter Tuchel from making a move for a player who he developed in a way that Dortmund could receive mammoth money from the Blaugrana four years ago.

And if the move was to come to fruition in the near future, the Frenchmen would seemingly be a happy man.

Previously speaking to BeIN sports, Dembele explained: “Thomas Tuchel really convinced me, he is my favourite manager.”
