Police officers have been accused of pinning a 15-year-old boy to the ground after they restrained him for travelling through London Bridge Station without a ticket.
Witnesses claim they saw British Transport Police (BTP) bending the teenager’s arm back and pushing his face against the ground, resulting in a split lip.
A BTP spokesperson said the boy had been trying to run away from officers after they caught him passing through the barriers without a valid ticket.

Concerned passers-by saw officers engaging with the boy and intervened.
“I was on my way through the concourse to the Tube entrance when I saw these two police officers on top of the boy,” a witness told MyLondon.
“One had their arm wrapped right around him whilst simultaneously pushing his face against the floor resulting in the split lip.”
A BTP spokesperson said the boy was restrained on the floor while a second officer watched on “to ensure his safety”.
The teenager was then issued a warning by officers before being sent on his way.
BTP said no complaints had been made to the Professional Standards Department as a result of the incident.
