The pretty but underappreciated seaside town named the best under 2 hours from London

For all the great things about London it can get a bit bleak sometimes – and what’s better for sorting out some London-induced blues than by escaping to a seaside town.

This week, in our series of seaside towns we think every Londoner should check out, we’re bringing you Worthing in West Sussex.

The seaside paradise is located on the English Channel coast and borders Kent and West Sussex, with around 90 miles of shoreline.

Tourists will be able to pull up a deckchair on the shingle beach and relax with a book, your speaker, and some tinnies.

Worthing is described as a traditional seaside town “with a modern twist”, where tourists and residents alike can enjoy a wide range of seaside activities.

You can take a leisurely stroll down the promenade, with an ice cream if the weather is nice (or not – I’m not your dad).
