Inter Milan make major Stefan de Vrij transfer decision as Daniel Levy outlines Spurs strategy

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Wednesday, November 24.

Inter make de Vrij decision

Inter Milan may decide not to renew rumoured Tottenham target Stefan de Vrij’s contract and could instead look to build their defence around Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni.

That is according to Calciomercato, via The Spurs Web, who also assert that the north London outfit are at the front of the queue for the Dutchman’s signature as things stand.

Levy outlines Spurs’ strategy

Daniel Levy has made it clear that Tottenham’s long-term strategy is to “drive and generate revenues to invest in football activities” as he looks to take the club forward again.

“Going forward, therefore, our strategy is clear – to drive and generate revenues to invest in all of our football activities,” stated the Tottenham chairman in a statement on the club’s website after their financial results for the year ending June 30, 2021 were revealed.

“Football success, in turn, supports the growth of our club, our fanbase and consequently wider, commercial opportunities and partnerships, which then deliver further revenue to reinvest in football – the virtuous, sustainable circle on which our club model is based.”

During an interview with Standard Sport earlier in the year, the England captain said: “We got so close to winning it [Champions League]. I would love to see him win it [with PSG last season].

“But we became friends in that the things we did and talked about went beyond football.”
