Tottenham supporters have predicted that Harry Winks could return to his best after being selected from the start against Leeds United.
Spurs welcome Marcelo Bielsa’s men to north London on Sunday afternoon for what is just Antonio Conte’s second Premier League match in charge after he was announced as Nuno Espirito Santo’s replacement.
Supporters were initially intrigued to see what the Italian’s line-up would look like for the game and they were handed a few surprises.
Among the biggest of those was the inclusion of midfielder Harry Winks as the England man replaced Tanguy Ndombele in the heart of the Tottenham midfield for what was just his second Premier League start of the season – and third appearance in the league in all.
The 25-year-old had not played a minute of action in the Premier League since the 3-0 humbling at the hands of Crystal Palace back in mid-September.
With the announcement of Conte’s selection, Spurs fans were hopeful that the academy graduate could once again start showing his best form in north London.
Here are a selection of their reactions from social media:
Ahead of the clash with Leeds, Tottenham have the opportunity to rise three places in the Premier League table with a victory.
They could potentially overtake struggling Manchester United, who themselves made the decision to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the wake of their 4-1 hammering at the hands of Watford on Saturday.
As it stands, Spurs sit four points behind north London rivals Arsenal, who currently occupy fifth position in the Premier League.
