New private cinema hidden under an London Overground line where drinks, pizza and nachos are brought to your seat

With this drop in weather, our daytime and evening activities are a little more numbered.

Al fresco dining, evening walks and picnics are all out. So what’s left, to prevent us becoming house gremlins, confined to Netflix and our dressing gowns?

You guessed it – the winning winter night out is the humble cinema.

But if you’re in North London, it might be time to step your cinema trip up a notch, as an incredibly fancy new cinema has opened up, and it’s in an unexpected spot.

The Curzon cinema is tucked under the arches in Camden, North London

This new cinema is named the Curzon, and it’s tucked under the Camden arches, just under the London Overground line that runs through Kentish Town and Camden Road.

But this is no typical cinema.

It has five screens, each a different colour – red, green, blue, grey and purple. Each has only around 30 seats, so it feels like a private cinema – or go for your birthday and book them all.

These intimate screenings are the perfect date night (or pizza night for one)

The brand new Curzon also features a café and bar with two levels and free Wi-Fi if you want to pass the day away on your laptop.

The bar features a whole host of cocktails, beer, wine and spirits, as well as nachos, bar snacks, halloumi fries and an all-day pizza menu.

And the best news? You’re not only confined to eating and drinking in the bar. For the true lovers of comfort, waiters will bring your orders straight to your seat in the cinema.

Nachos during your film? Don’t mind if we do

That’s right, those of us who have become accustomed to scanning a barcode on our phones and our food arriving in five minutes during lockdown will go crazy for this feature.

Simply sit back, order yourself a cocktail to your seat and enjoy the film.

Speaking of which, Curzon is currently showing Natural Light, The French Dispatch, Eternals, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Spencer, and Tick, Tick…Boom!
