Michail Antonio sends message to West Ham co-owner David Sullivan message after Jamaica goals

Michail Antonio’s international break went well on an individual level for the striker with two wonder goals in the space of four days.

Unfortunately for Jamaica both matches ended in 1-1 draws leaving their World Cup qualification hopes hanging by a thread. However, the Hammers striker almost single-handedly kept his nation’s hopes alive with two moments of individual brilliance.

Against El Salvador Antonio picked the ball up near the halfway line before bursting past his marker and driving into the box, he capped off the run with a delicate dink over the onrushing goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

Antonio showed his versatility in front of goal just a few days later with the West Ham man beating his marker before smashing in a 30-yard screamer beyond the despairing US goalkeeper.

With Antonio having a history of injury problems many Hammers supporters were worried about the striker’s decision to represent the Regge Boyz and the added fixtures this brings but he came through unscathed and will be fit for the clash against Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

Antonio’s availability will be aided by co-chairman David Sullivan’s decision to organise a private jet for the striker to return from Jamaica to London on Wednesday.

Taking to social media Antonio filmed himself at the airport preparing to board and added a message of thanks to Sullivan.

“It has been a pleasure Jamaica, I have enjoyed every minute of it but it is time to get home back to the West Ham,” Antonio said.

“I would like to thank David Sullivan for sorting this out [the private plane] so I can get back earlier and prepare right for the game on Saturday.”
