Strictly: Craig’s cutting criticism as Judi returns to the show

Craig Revel Howood has pulled out of Saturday night’s Strictly show at the weekend after testing positive for Covid-19.

The 56-year-old judge will return next weekend.

In a statement, a Strictly spokesperson said: “Craig Revel Horwood has tested positive for Covid-19 and is now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines.

“While Craig will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, all being well he will return the following week.”

It has not yet been confirmed who will be replacing him on the panel – or if he will be replaced at all.

If he isn’t replaced then that means that each of the celebs will be marked out of 30 instead of the usual 40 on Saturday.

This may be the first time that Craig has ever missed a Strictly show since he first joined back in 2004 and is the only remaining original judge.

Craig is also the first judge who has been forced to pull out of Strictly due to a positive test.

The panel might only consist of three judges

Due to the new coronavirus-1>coronavirus regulations this year, celebrities who have contracted the virus have been able to continue performing after missing a week.

Tom Fletcher and Judi Love have both missed a week after coming down with Covid, with Judi admitting that she only had one day to learn her Halloween dance – which ultimately saw her axed from the competition.

It was a different story for celebs last year, however, as the strictly regulations on set meant that Nicola Adams and partner Katya Jones were forced to withdraw after the pro contracted Covid.

Bruno Tonioli has had to miss the last two years due to the pandemic as he has been unable to fly between LA and London while also hosting Dancing With The Stars.

However, he was briefly replaced by Alfonso Ribero – who won Dancing With The Stars – back in 2019 for one week after a schedule clash.
