A girl was knocked off her bike in collision with a car and rushed to hospital in West London this afternoon (November 10).
A section of the A311 by Twickenham Green is closed after the incident around 3.15pm.
Police and ambulance staff are at the scene, where a car has been pictured with its airbag deployed.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed that the child was rushed to a major trauma centre ‘as a priority’.
One person reported: “Car airbag deployed and someone in road. Hope they are not badly injured. Avoid area.”
The Twickenham and Richmond Tribune Tweeted: “An accident on the Hampton Road side of Twickenham Green is causing severe traffic congestion.
“Police on site say a little girl had been knocked over, but there are no further details at the moment. Hopefully she is not seriously hurt.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.18pm today (10 November) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a bicycle on The Green, Twickenham.
“We sent an ambulance crew and a clinical team leader.
“We treated a child at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
