A key road in South London has been closed after a pedestrian was ‘hit by a lorry’.
London Ambulance Service has since confirmed the ‘traffic collision’, and that they took the man to hospital ‘as a priority’.
His current condition is unclear.
The incident happened on Wandsworth Bridge Road at the junction of Rosebury Road this morning.
A cordon has been set up across the road with multiple emergency service vehicles at the scene.
Witnesses at the scene report seeing a lorry within the cordon stopped over a pedestrian crossing.
A resident said: “Pedestrian hit by lorry on Wandsworth Bridge Road today. The local community have had enough, this road needs to be made safer for the more vulnerable local road users who walk and cycle here every day.
“We need pedestrian priority pelican crossings & protected cycle lanes now.”
