Gareth Southgate has named Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in the England squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Albania and San Marino.
Ramsdale has been so impressive for the Gunners recently, which was summed up by his man of the match performance against Leicester City at the weekend.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper, who was signed in the summer transfer window for around £25million from Sheffield United, has recently taken Bernd Leno’s place in the Arsenal first team and has not let Mikel Arteta down with some fine performances in between the posts.
England take on Albania at home on Friday, November 12 and then San Marino away from home on Monday, November 15.
Here is the squad in full from Southgate:
Goalkeepers: Sam Johnstone, Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale
Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Chilwell, Conor Coady, Reece James, Harry Maguire, Tyrone Mings, Luke Shaw, John Stones, Kyle Walker
Midfielders: Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson, Mason Mount, Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice, James Ward-Prowse
Forwards: Tammy Abraham, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling
Some perhaps surprise omissions from the squad include Arsenal pair Emile Smith Rowe and Ben White, who have both been very impressive in recent games for the Gunners.
Crystal Palace duo Conor Gallagher, who is on loan from Chelsea, and Marc Guehi are also a tad unfortunate to miss out on a place in the squad.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho has been dropped from the squad after a disappointing start to the season for the former Borussia Dortmund winger.
