Live South Western, Avanti, London Northwestern train updates as passengers face huge delays due to severe weather

Passengers travelling on South Western, Avanti and London Northwestern trains are facing huge delays today following weather disruption.

All lines on South Western railway have been disrupted after multiple trees have blocked the railway.

Further disruption has been reported on the Avanti and London Northwestern trains.

Train services running across the whole South Western Railway network may be cancelled, delayed or revised with the disruption expected to last until the end of the day.

Network Rail tweeted today (October 31): “Due to severe weather impacting equipment in the #Northampton area, @LNRailway & @AvantiWestCoast services are delayed / suspended.”

The latest update on the South Western railway website reads:

“We have been informed of multiple trees fallen on our network. The locations of these trees and their impact are detailed below:

– Swanwick. All lines blocked.

– Wareham to Dorchester South, three tress are down. All lines blocked.

– Romsey, the line towards Salisbury is blocked.

– Bagshot to Ascot. All lines blocked.

– Whitton to Hounslow/Feltham. All lines blocked.

– Dean. All lines blocked.

– Syon Lane. All lines blocked.

– Oxshott. All lines blocked.

– Warminster. All lines blocked.

– Dean. All lines blocked.

– Bookham. All lines blocked.”
