Kilburn Sainsbury’s crash live: Updates as High Road closed girl, 11, hit by lorry in ‘dreadful accident’

A section of a major London road is closed following reports of an accident involving a child aged 11.

Kilburn High Road is currently closed following a reported road traffic accident outside a Sainsbury’s supermarket involving a lorry and an 11-year-old girl shortly after 11am.

Reports shared on social media said that a police cordon was up in the area following what was described as a ‘dreadful accident’.

MyLondon have reached out to the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service (LAS) for more information.

Police confirmed an 11-year-old girl was taken to hospital and that the lorry driver stopped at the scene.

The LAS confirmed she was treated at the scene for leg injuries and subsequently taken to a major trauma centre.

A spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.22am today (October 29) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian on Kilburn High Road, NW6.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic and London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a child at the scene for leg injuries and took them to a major trauma centre. Another child was also assessed at the scene but not taken to hospital.”
