Westminster stabbing live: Updates after man stabbed in street fight near London Underground station

A 39-year-old man is in hospital after being stabbed during a late night street fight near Victoria station.

Police were called at 12.20am today (Thursday, October 28) to reports of a group fighting at Victoria Street at the junction with Carlisle Place in Westminster – opposite the Victoria Palace theatre and the Victoria London Underground entrance at Cardinal Place.

Police and London Ambulance Service attended to find the man with stab wounds.

He was taken to a West London hospital where his condition has been described as not life-threatening.

A 33-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken to a central London police station where he remains at this time.

A crime scene remains in place.
