TfL Rail and Greater Anglia delays live: Updates as person pronounced dead after being hit by train near Chadwell Heath

There are delays on part of the rail network after a person was hit by train between Romford and Ilford.

Confirmation of the emergency incident was made by Greater Anglia rail after its trains were seriously disrupted this morning (October 27)

The train company wrote on social media: “Due to a person hit by a train between Ilford and #Romford all lines are blocked.

“Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until further notice.”

National Rail also confirmed the incident with a report published on its website at 7.25am.

The services affected are TfL Rail between London Liverpool Street and Shenfield, and Greater Anglia between London Liverpool Street and Ipswich / Norwich / Braintree / Southend Victoria / Clacton-on-Sea.

National Rails advised that delays could continue until at least 10am.

There is unconfirmed reports that the person was hit by the train at Chadwell Heath.
