Greater Anglia: Person dies after being hit by train near Romford – recap

A person has died after being hit by a train near Essex.

The incident happened between Ilford and Romford and was first reported at 7.28am today (Wednesday, October 27), causing all lines to be blocked between the stations.

It affected trains into and out of London Liverpool Street, as several services were cancelled, including trains from Norwich.

All lines have now been reopened between Ilford and Romford, but there are still delays of up to 60 minutes on some trains.

Emergency services and Network Rail staff were confirmed to be at the scene.

A diversion is in place, as C2C is accepting Greater Anglia ticket holders between Southend and Fenchurch Street.
